What is chemical peeling?

It is the process of revitalizing and rejuvenating the skin by creating controlled damage to the skin. The aim is to create damage to the skin to the desired level and to treat leygons with the production of collagen and elastin, which occurs with the effect of regeneration. How is Chemical Peeling Applied?

Chemical peeling process according to the level of the disease;

• Superficial chemical peeling,

• It is done in three ways as deep chemical peeling.

Superficial Chemical Peeling

The chemical peeling process targets the top layer of the skin (epidermis). Before the procedure, the application area is cleaned and the procedure is started. Slight burning, stinging or redness may occur during the procedure. These effects are temporary and disappear after a while. With the superficial chemical peeling process, problems such as fine wrinkles, acne, skin tone equalization and skin dryness are successfully eliminated. Generally, 4-8 sessions are held at 1-4 week intervals.

Medium Depth Chemical Peeling

In the medium-depth chemical peeling process, the top layer of the skin (epidermis) and the middle layer (upper dermis) are targeted. Before the procedure, the application area is anesthetized with anesthetic cream and the procedure is performed. A deep peeling effect is seen on the skin. After the procedure, the red skin is crusted and peeled. Then a healthier skin appearance is formed. Generally, 2-4 sessions are held at 2-4 month intervals.

Deep Chemical Peeling

Deep chemical peeling is applied to the epidermis, middle dermis and dermis. The application area is cleaned before the procedure. Since the procedure is performed on the lowest layer of the skin, the healing process is also longer. After this procedure, which is usually performed as a single session, the skin gets the desired young and bright appearance.

Things to Consider After Chemical Peeling

• The crusts formed after the procedure should not be peeled.
• Sunscreen creams and moisturizing products recommended by the physician should be used.
• The person should protect himself and his skin against the sun's rays.
• Makeup products should be avoided for a while immediately after the application.

Skin Care After Chemical Peeling

It is absolutely necessary to use moisturizing and soothing products for the first two weeks after chemical peeling. We should clean our skin with sensitive cleansing products and use high-factor sunscreens. Cortisone creams can be used in case of redness or burning after treatment. This is of great importance to protect people with dark skin color from the danger of spotting. Mineral-containing makeup can be used after the first 24 hours. However, it is necessary to wait at least two weeks to be directly exposed to the sun or to enter the solarium.

How to Clean Chemical Peels from the Skin?

After the chemical peeling process, the skin surface should be cleaned with special solutions. The skin is wiped with spray-shaped products and targeted cleaning is provided. After this substance foams on the skin, it is cleaned until there is no chemical substance on the person's face. If necessary, the process is repeated. If the skin is not frothy, it means that it has been cleaned from chemical wastes.

Afterwards, nourishing creams are applied to the skin. When going out in the sun, you should not forget to apply sunscreen.
